Light Pillar over Erupting Etna
Volcanic activity on Italy's Mount Etna created a rare light pillar, captured in a single shot. Freezing temperatures formed ice crystals above the lava flow, reflecting the red glow from the magma, resulting in an upward-extending column of light.
