Tariffs are bad for business, and worse for consumers.
We regret the unjustified 25% tariff on steel and aluminium imports imposed by the United States worth $28 billion.
We are responding with countermeasures worth up to €26 billion.
Nobody needs that – on both sides, neither the European Union nor the United States.
In a world fraught with uncertainties, it is not in our common interest to burden our economies with tariffs.
