The one relay available on lnproxy.org was down for more than week. It's back now, but it would be awesome to have a few more relays for redundancy. If you run a node using lnd, it's easy to set it up to serve as an lnproxy relay, reach out and I'll walk you through it.
Running a relay has several benefits:
- a boost for your routing fees
- more plausible deniability for invoices from your node (might be for you or might just be a proxy for someone else)
- help fellow node runners with receiver privacy
- contribute to eliminating any incentives that lighting custodians might have to censor certain destinations
There are some risks but
- code is stable
- privay is legal again
So please consider running a relay.
