If anyone is interested in what I think is closer to a long-term solution:
- outbox model: you can follow anyone you want no matter the relays they use since you'll only fetch their posts and not other garbage.
- "global", "discovery", replies and comments and "inbox" (mentions, replies to you) feeds all should be filtered by relays that are more restricted, more strict about whom they accept, community relays, niche relays, or relays of curated content, depending on the use case -- I've talked about this many times, but here is one note from today: nostr:nevent1qqsqqqzkw252j5cmp8qz4v3dhkwrw8tdzwnn52wp0ralmd564h2flscpz4mhxue69uhkzet8d9ejuat50phjummwv5hszrnhwden5te0dehhxtnvdakz7qg3waehxw309ahx7um5wgh8w6twv5hshtsleu
