I think you are dramatizing a lot. We have a dacentralized market of information, that is mostly not under pressure of censorship. Also thanks to Podcasts, Socialmedia and so newsmedia can not actively censor topics anymore.
When you see any difference between factchecking and critical thinking. What is the big difference in your oppinion? I think it is important to identify facts, keep them. And see the lies and let them alone. This can be aachieved through factchecking very good in most cases.
