One frigid winter, Elder Cleopa, a young monk, was tasked with fetching water from a distant spring. Snowdrifts were high, the path treacherous. Along the way, a ferocious wolf blocked his path, growling menacingly. Instead of fear, Cleopa began to pray, reciting Psalm 90. The wolf, as if tamed, lowered its head and allowed the monk to pass. Cleopa filled his buckets, and the wolf escorted him back, disappearing only after the monk safely reached the monastery.
Venerable Cleopa, pray for us, that we may be delivered from the snares of the evil one and find refuge in God's love.
