I had it cleaned and serviced in Beijing but there is no saving that inner element after the original coating dried up. Used it for the past month, and wasn’t impressed with it, as it doesn’t get sharp until f/4 or f/5.6
It will need to be cannibalized with another lens from the parts bin, and when it’s that rare, I feel only a shop like that one has such parts in their junk bin.
So happy to be done with that fungus covered piece of shit 🤣
They still gave me $1000 for it, which is wonderful since I was only into it for $450 - and now I don’t need to test the market of flakey buyers on eBay who would all but certainly return it because they insist on collecting clean examples, not knowing the cost.
My only regret was not selling it in Japan. I feel I would have gotten like $200-$400 more there bc there are many more film shooters there who could appreciate it.
