We've turned off issues on there and clearly document that on the page. We receive email notices for PRs.

People just put stuff on GitHub because it's a "free" webpage for downloading and following other people's repos, and it's a good place to advertise a project and collect 🟩🟩🟩.
We have our main repo on our own server. We're a big team and prefer to self-host. We're also a team that helps develop Nostr DevOps products, so it would be silly of us to not use them, ourselves.
