The IRL Flare x Google Verifiable AI Hackathon took place from March 7 to March 9, 2025, at UC Berkeley, California. This event, organized by Flare and Google Cloud, focused on exploring applications in blockchain and AI. The hackathon attracted 105 developers and received 24 project submissions across four tracks: Social AI Agent, RAG Knowledge, AI x DeFi (DeFAI), and Consensus Learning. Participants utilized Google Cloud's Confidential Computing along with Flare's blockchain technology to propose innovations that integrate AI with blockchain infrastructures.
Notable innovations included the use of decentralized oracles and confidential computation for developing autonomous AI dApps. The total prize pool amounted to $60,000, with winners in each track receiving $15,000. The hackathon featured workshops and mentorship sessions to assist participants with Flare's infrastructure and the DoraHacks platform. Evaluation was conducted by an expert panel comprising members from both Flare and Google Cloud, such as Hugo Philion from Flare and Ross Nicoll from Google Cloud. The event highlighted the potential for integrating AI into blockchain, enhancing decentralized application capabilities.
