Nice sentiments Laura. The BTC I obtained "early" (circa 2015-16) at ridiculously low prices, I was soon forced to sell into a quiet market. Back then, I was living thru very difficult circumstances (both domestically and globally, so to speak) from about 2013 thru until the very end of 2019 (just weeks before the COVID Lockdowns materialized).
During February 2020, I managed to get back in as a BTC stacker, but the price had already started to 'surge' above about $12,000 after being quiet for most of 2019.
The people charged (back in September 2019) with sending me a large payment took too long, and then the paperwork got tangled-up with the 2019 Christmas and New Year holidays, so my Bank was not credited until mid-January. This meant I lost out to the order of something between -0.06 to -0.1 in total BTC purchased compared to the amount I would have obtained if I could have acted during November/December 2019.
Anyways, as of today I am "still in the game" and am therefore relieved the long anticipated "Bull Run" still seems to be alive and kicking.
I just wanted to reply because I can really feel pain (from old wounds) when reading your lovely and well-intentioned post. We all have our stories to tell, and I am quite sure I wasn't the only one pushed into despair at some point during that 2013-20 period.
Your words bring me both a reminder of impossible circumstances that were imposed on me by circumstances well outside my control ... and real feelings of solace, hope, and comfort after a nightmare ride thru the part of my life (I'm a "Boomer") where I had naively expected to enjoy some relaxation, security, and freedom from any immediate threats.
Thanks again for your sentiments, even though they are actually meant for everyone. Wherever you are, take care, be safe, and enjoy this world in good health ... for as long as you can breath.
