Y'know, normally I would say that Sword & Shield is a "looks beginner-friendly but actually isn't" sort of weapon in Monster Hunter, but in Wilds I think it might be.
1. They evened out the damage to be more consistent across its myriad options and less focused on big specials.
2. They added an obvious combo ender in the charge chop that can be reached either directly or right after a round slash.
3. The shield actually does decent damage mitigation, now.
