Once the government is banning knives, it’s all over.
When it is considered good governance to ban sharp objects, and the opposition is so weak (or more likely, in agreement with the incumbents) to stop it - your country is gone.
No-one is going to run on a platform of “we will unban knives” knowing that a single incident will be put upon them by the M5M and their opposites which is all they care about.
It’s not going to happen, the problems won’t disappear but that doesn’t matter - it’s not getting undone and now you can’t even carry the most basic of self-defence making you entirely reliant for protection on the system of idiots who screwed it up in the first place.
We are beyond “reform” at this point. The system is cooked and it’s gotta go.
