The switch has to happen. There's just no reason for stocks not to be Cryptos, and there's no reason for Cryptos to exist in their current formulation. Making crypto represent equity makes sense. Bitcoin is money ; crypto can't be money because its winner take all ; crypto can only be equity to be worth anything.
But there has to be rules... Infinitely printable equity shares isn't an improvement. Crypto with infinite supply is super stupid. Crypto that implements dark pools isn't okay - anonymous transactions is great in money, but in equity? That's an abomination.
