2024-12-22 14:39:00This is a long form article about long form articles; I got the idea to do this after stumbling upon various nostr clients that specialize in long form articles. The word “long” originates from the Old English “Lang”, meaning “having great linear extent”, the term evolved to encompass meanings related to both physical length and also duration of time. The word form originates from Latin forma, meaning “Shape, contour and figure, making the phrase “long form” indeed quite an interesting concept. The term “long form” first appeared in the 1960s, with the earliest documented usage found in the American Bar Association Journal from 1961, it refers to writing or content that is longer/more detailed than usual formats. A few words that rhyme with long form or are at least similar: 1. Strong Storm 2. Song Norm 3. Wrong Warm 4. Bong Swarm
Susan Gale was quoted saying, “The longer you have to wait for something, the more you will appreciate it when it finally arrives, many of you may be in fact feeling that way about this long form article, naturally I expect readers to be wondering where this article has been their entire life and the overwhelming truth of the situation is it doesn’t matter, it is here now and it is not going anywhere as long as there is a relay out there transmitting this information. Speaking of transmitting information, did you know people have been doing exactly that in long form ways for just as long as they have been doing it in short form ways? Cave men in the early days would often do long form articles in caves via long form drawings or at least I assume so. The longer the form the more information there is to captivate and enrich our society and this is generally the crux of the solution, divided by the context within the contrast.
I will say I am historically not a long form kind of guy but when in Rome, eat some pizza. Many public speakers that do long form talks will often read long form articles from a teleprompter, the teleprompter was actually developed in 1950 by Fred Barton Jr, Hubert Schlafly and Irving Kahn as a mechanical device using a paper scroll, it is quite astonishing that three people were involved in developing such a device when less people have had influence over more important things. Long form articles are typically defined as those exceeding two thousand words, which allows for in depth exploration of a particular topic, long form articles often result in more traffic and social shares compared to shorter ones, long form articles can enhance writers credibility on a subject especially if facts are linked to credible sources. I for one am not in the business of linking credible sources even though I one hundred percent believe it is a viable thing to do.
All though most long form articles typically have two thousand words or more, this will not be one of them for I am really scratching at things to write about and it is getting past my bed time, let it be known that I am not in any way shape or long form opposed to the idea of writing a part two of this article at a future date. Ultimately what is a long form article comes down to an individual’s capability to read and withstand a certain amount of words, some may consider this article short, some may consider it medium but I for one consider it long form, so let that be known.
Have a great day and thanks for reading my long form article about long form articles.
