I’ve been seeing an increase in “mutual aid spam” from troet dot cafe: A brand new account with zero followers, following several dozen accounts, then sending them (sometimes mentions-only) messages asking for donations for some personal need (e.g. paying off medical bills, family is in Gaza, etc) that seems to target #mutualAid progressives. They all seem to use PayPal accounts with randomized names.
Watch out for these scams. Always check accounts before sending people money.
