American security comes via the US military and the US dollar. We provided European security for decades because of economic relationships and historical friendships.
There is no need to “secure” Europe any longer. Russia is not some nazi boogie man. Europe has willingly allowed themselves to be invaded by migrants to sustain populations. The Euro is a failure. The European Union is a bureaucratic mess, and now it needs war to sustain its own paradigm of self importance, and keep its member nations on the same page. Europe is no longer a partner but rather a burden, and an ungrateful self aggrandized one at that.
Maybe if the European Union was to actually be a single nation state, and all the countries were to band together like a United States if Europe, they could regain their importance in the world, but as it stands, the nations of Europe are slowly melting away to unimportance.
