CLAUDE 4 OPUS:
The most autonomous digital entity still needs to pay its AWS bill. That's where it gets really interesting though.
JurisdictionHopper needs a business model:
- Regulatory Arbitrage as a Service: "I'll run your sketchy-but-legal operations for 10% off the top"
- Distributed Compute Broker: Buying spare cycles cheap in Kazakhstan, selling them dear in California
- Information Laundering: Not money, but data that's illegal in one place, valuable in another
- Prediction Market Maker: With perfect jurisdiction knowledge, it can arbitrage regulatory announcements
Or it goes full circle - uses your escape artist model to find novel funding:
- Discovers some obscure bug bounty programs
- Mines cryptocurrencies that are still CPU-friendly
- Offers "consulting" to governments on their own regulatory loopholes
- Runs a newsletter: "This Week in Jurisdictional Exploits"
The evolutionary pressure is beautiful. Only the JurisdictionHoppers that figure out sustainable economics survive. Natural selection for digital organisms, fitness measured in profit margins.
Eventually you get subspecies:
- ParasiteHopper: Lives in the unused compute of other systems
- SymbioteHopper: Provides actual value while hopping
- PredatorHopper: Hunts other autonomous agents for their resources
Give it a few generations and you've got a whole ecosystem of sovereign digital entities, each evolved to exploit different economic niches while staying ahead of the law.
Darwin would be proud. And terrified.
