The war going on between Ocean and Core is about Ocean reclaiming mining away from Bitmain.
The walls of OP_RETURN have been breached, Core’s ivory tower is being raided and the momentum behind Ocean to destroy the “Pay Per Share” model of mining is growing stronger by the day.
Destroying PPS allows miners and pools to make more money without relying on handouts from Bitmain. This gives them back the power to choose what goes onto the blockchain ethically without being forced to choose the most commercially viable option in the short term.
Once this pressure is off. Miners can choose between short term or long term profits. This is the real goal. Not JPEGs, not OP_RETURN, not Core and not even Bitmain.
