As a former boardmember and later secretary, then treasurer and finally president of a legitimate "NGO", after a decade of fighting for equal treatment under the law, we were faced with a harsh reality and a hard decision. Either we continued lobbying the government for change, or we turned our limited resources to public education. Upon further reflection, about 20 years ago, it became apparent the government would not change their direction because they had built up many profit centers around the present systems of injustice. This is why we decided to focus on shifting the ovorton window to awareness of the systematic violation of an essential human right within the borders of our supposed bastion of freedom. This was a daunting task, given we were the foci of disdain thanks to the efforts of the Clinton's attorney general's efforts demonizing fathers who were subjected to the family courts and departments of health finances. You can thank our unknown organization and our friends, like Kassie J., for changes in attitudes toward the role of fathers in the rearing and protection of children.
My point being, there are many NGOs not connected to government finances, simple groups exercising their legitimate right to speech, and it is this legitimacy the IC hides behind through laundered government funding.
