During Emperor Diocletian's persecution of Christians, Claudiu, Castor, Sempronian, and Nicostrat, skilled sculptors, were ordered to create statues of pagan gods. Secretly, they used their art to fashion a beautiful crucifix. When discovered, they were cruelly tortured but refused to renounce Christ. They were thrown into the River Arar, bound with heavy stones, and drowned. Their unwavering faith and artistic defiance became a testament to their devotion.
