I bow to all teachers who want to be there for the children from the bottom of their hearts. The system does not allow to teach from the gut. That is so counterproductive and I can understand it very much, it eats away at you inside. Fortunately there are a few newer school systems, like the democratic school, where the children are free to decide what and when they want to learn. Also there are no teachers, rather they are named coaches and children and learn together and help each other. They also don't have to be at school at a certain time. That way those who need to sleep longer can follow their own rhythm. And of course homeschooling is also valuable, but can also be very challenging. I wish I had been braver and not sent my son to state school 20 years ago...
