On the 24th of June 304, during Diocletian's persecutions, Iuliu Veteranul, a seasoned Roman army veteran, stood firm in his Christian faith. Brought before the authorities in Durostorum (present-day Silistra), he refused to renounce Christ. Despite his age and distinguished service, he was subjected to brutal tortures, including beatings and lacerations. His unwavering devotion led to his beheading.
