I honestly need a shortlist of lighthearted books that, when I read them, don't make me think about terrible things. I really didn't help myself reading Catcher in the Rye, Heart of Darkness, and the Creature from Jekyll Island all in a row ☠️ But now actually I want to focus and finish recording the audiobook for Softwar (and I'm definitely going to count it towards my goal).
I like the quality > quantity approach tbh. It might be worthwhile to consider just doing that myself. Every book I've been reading just leaves me with so much to think about, it's hard to pick up the next one. Or in Frankenstein's case, too much to think about while I'm reading it.
What's Mortimer have to say about that? I'd really want to know actually. I'd always had such a poor relationship with reading and education growing up 🤣
