no, i wouldn’t say i’m friends with any core people. I only know them from the brief times i’ve interacted with them at conferences and from PR interactions. Just chatting with them made me impressed with their depth of knowledge.
sipa blocked me on twitter because i said c++ sucks, last time i interacted with peter todd in person we got in an argument. I like luke and chatted with him at dinner in las vegas.
I’d say the person i’ve chatted with the most is sjors and 0xb10c since I was working on some of the wallet/gui and tracepoints at one point.
