Yes, I understand, even if i use few hardware and app wallets, I was a little confused at first with the Jade.
Keep in mind you can use it as a wallet or as a signer.
A wallet, store the seed inside the chip, most expensive wallets save it on a offline secure element in the device, the Jade doesn't have this secure element, so you have 3 choices:
-save the seed inside encrypted by a pin ( the less secured way)
-Save a secret split part of the seed in the device, shared with blockstream servers. ( if someone steals your Jade the only way to access your wallet is by connecting to your blockstream app account, so basically he also have to hack your account or your phone, PC..)
-Use it as a signer in air gap mode. Your Jade erase all seed at restart.
(There's no risk even if your jade is stolen, as it contains no information. In this case keep your seed/seedQR on paper + metal, not next to your Jade, well hidden but not too hard to access because you'll need it each time you make a transaction out )
Once you follow the btcsession tutorial, especially on the air gap mode and get it, I find the jade is a good signer for the price. A good alternative to a seedsigner.
