“Bitcoin is a cult—but it’s your cult once you take the orange pill.
It’s got all the makings:
• A messiah who vanished (Satoshi)
• Sacred texts (the White Paper)
• End-times prophecy (fiat collapse is coming)
• Tithing rituals (DCA every week, never sell)
• Excommunication of heretics (“Have fun staying poor,” “NGMI”)
• Pilgrimages to Bitcoin conferences, complete with laser-eyed prophets and raw milk vendors
The difference? Instead of worshipping a sky god, you’re worshipping hard-coded math and digital scarcity. And instead of giving your money to a priest, you run your own node and hold your own keys.
So yeah, Bitcoin has cult energy—but maybe that’s the point. Fiat has its own cult: central banks, debt slavery, and endless inflation. Bitcoin just flipped the script, gave it memes, memes-with-teeth, and said:
“Come for the number go up. Stay for the freedom.”
