HK - already happened in 2019 and then Covid coupled crackdown. Sad to see.

Hawaii - forcibly annexed by the President McKinley in the 1890s.
Falklands - Argentinians and Brits had a little scuffle in the 80s, Brits held onto it.
Maybe you meant to mention Myanmar or Sudan as well which are in very fraught situations at the moment.
North Korea v South Korea is another ongoing conflict. But nothing very interesting recently on that one.
