It depends. Sometimes people tease others as a way of expressing feelings of love they’re uncomfortable articulating. They are hoping a laugh might ease the tension and convey the message.
There are also times when people tease others to mask personal insecurities. They hate themselves and make comments/jokes pointing out someone else’s flaws to hide their own. Cutting others down in a pathetic attempt to build themselves up.
Either way, you can’t internalize the things that people say to you or about you. Words are only hurtful if you allow them to be. Love yourself to discern love from hate. If it’s love, allow yourself to smile it off and if it’s hate, walk away from it. It’s not worth your peace.
Being teased can be annoying but it can also lighten a mood and bring joy into a situation. It all depends on how you choose to respond.
