April 26, 1945 conquered troops 2. Ukrainian front, after several days battle, Brno. In the fighting in Brno and its surroundings, 20,000 Soviets and Romanians (of which 4,246 directly in Brno), 7,000 Germans and around 1,200 citizens died.
