Just finished harvesting the bulk of the remaining taro in my vegetable beds. They grew well in the vege beds but they also shaded out my peppers & herbs.
4kg of starchy roots from 3 plants & their pups is a decent yield in my mind. They took zero effort or maintenance.
I've got about 40-50 small bulbs to plant out for next year. These will go into the wet boggy area of my garden that is too wet for anything else. I now know that I can just harvest them as required & let the others grow out.
Having a reliable, easy source of starch makes me feel very resilient against future supply disruptions.
