**Netanyahu Reveals Details of Mossad's Beeper Operation**
Netanyahu: "In the third week of September, we discovered that Hamas — or rather Hezbollah — had sent three beepers to be scanned in Iran. We had previously bombed a scanner they planned to use, taking out both the device and its operator. But now they had this new method — and it only required a tiny amount of TNT.
Months earlier, a Mossad officer had briefed me, showing me the beeper. I asked him, 'Is that really enough? How much TNT is in there?' He replied, 'I don’t know... nanograms, something like that.'
I said, 'What’s that gonna do? That’s nothing!' He insisted, 'Oh no, it'll work.'
So I grabbed the beeper and threw it against the wood paneling in my office — and it left a dent. I said, 'Alright, go ahead.'
But just when we were ready to move, we found out they were scanning it. When I heard about it, I was furious. I asked, 'Why didn’t you tell me earlier?' They said, 'It happened a few days ago.'
I pressed them, 'How long does a scan take?' They told me it could be done in a day.
I said, 'Then we have to act immediately.'"
