While they don’t have the immediate capacity today, to deliver equipment today, Europe can lead the rest of the world to provide the same backstop. That option wasn’t there for the South Vietnamese.
What will change the story completely is if the USA starts supplying arms or other support TO RUSSIA directly, ends the sanctions and enables the Russian economy to recover.
Then not only is Ukraine lost, but Europe as well.
