Although... there is one part of the monster that's intriguing, and that's their affinity to hobgoblins.
They look like hobgoblins, whatever those look like, although 2e at least gave some of them trollish features. But they also have social connections. They are sometimes found as bodyguards for hobgoblin kings.
We don't get more info than that in either b/x or LL, but what does it imply for the setting that there are ghoulish troll/hobgoblin hybrids in regular employ by hobgoblins?
