Confusion is a Tool of Control
Progress can be a double-edged sword: while the West has seen extraordinary leaps in technology and intellectual thought, powerful forces also work tirelessly to mold our perception of right and wrong. They weaken our sense of self-reliance and fracture the foundations of moral certainty; foundations that many believe are “written on men’s hearts” and traced back through time-tested ethics.
It’s not about vilifying any community; rather, it’s about recognizing how easily moral debates can be manipulated by those seeking to suppress productive individuals. When conflicting agendas sow confusion, we begin to doubt our own judgment. Even open dialogue becomes risky. We tiptoe around pressing issues, censor our questions, and in the end, allow our voice -- and influence -- to be muzzled.
Such disorientation benefits those who profit from a demoralized and fragmented society. Conflicted minds are easier to overtax, fearful of assembling around common goals, less trusting of their neighbor and community, and less likely to question top-heavy governance. Meanwhile, the productive shoulder the burden, unsure if they can speak openly, uncertain if their values hold any ground in the modern moral landscape.
But it’s not too late to remember the deep-rooted principles that once served as guideposts -- principles that offer clarity and a stable compass. Reaffirming these ethical anchors doesn’t mean condemning any individual or group, since we all have sinned; it means standing firm against confusion being weaponized. Only by keeping sight of enduring truths can we protect individual liberty, prevent exploitation, and secure the genuine progress we hope to pass on to the next generation.
