Mind hashrate should be used to find solutions, not arguing the same words in a never-ending circle.
There is spam, it is a fact.
Some think we can't and don't have to do anything about it. Fees are enough (and we see how it is ever true nowadays...)
Some think node should filter a better way to avoid the most spam inside blockchain.
If you really think there is nothing to do, then just shut up and let it go whatever technical background you have (if you think there is really nothing to do, then there is nothing to talk about).
For the other knot is a step to act, even if it is not perfect, it is a step.
Yes it could be some security concern. Of course it is not perfect, but it is another vision that are shared by some node owners to - try - to not let spam a greater space to live.
Yes, it could be a future problem for the blockchain integrity if miner don't have their block validate (depending on the node who validate it).
But if you want to find a consensus in this debate, just act, take in consideration what other have to say, and if you really still think nothing have to be done, good it is your right, but avoiding others to try to do something is just the way fiat system act.
I am not saying all devs are demons. They did a good job until now. But devs are only devs as they said themself and are technical superior to any other people.
This is not completely a technical problem here, it is a vision of what the future blockchain will host. And this is not only a dev technical problem.
You are welcome to try to make things better too, if you want of course. If you don't want it is ok too, but you will know others will try to do the job you don't do, to fit the node owners needs to check the blockchain validity and integrity the way they want.
Each side think the other is dishonest on something, it is time to grow.
Both side want the blockchain to be used in future and for a long time (whatever is put inside it).
Then just work on this instead of insulting each others like child or thinking it is just only a private technical debate.
Node owners, Miners, and Bitcoiners are watching you all, and they will remember the choices you have made now for the actual spam problem and the blockchain life.
