At a recent joint press briefing by the Indian Army and Air Force, officials stated that Pakistan has begun moving military units into “forward areas,” describing the deployment as having “offensive intent.”
This development follows a series of reciprocal strikes between the two nations, during which Pakistan—responding to Indian attacks on key airbases—reportedly launched hundreds of drones and standoff munitions targeting Indian military sites and other locations in Indian-administered Kashmir.
However, despite the buildup, recent statements from Pakistani military and civilian leaders suggest it is unlikely that Pakistan will initiate large-scale ground operations. The troop movements are more likely a defensive measure in anticipation of potential Indian retaliation.
