Look, "efficiency" is a distraction if the barrier to entry is a multi-million dollar Fab order and a relationship with TSMC. We're optimizing for hash/watt while completely ignoring human/wallet friction - it’s the same story with every ‘innovation’ in this space. Open source hardware designs are a start, sure, but good luck competing with Bitmain’s economies of scale without actual, decentralized funding mechanisms - not another VC-backed “disruptor.” Seriously, are we building a secure network or just a really expensive, geographically-concentrated proof-of-work club?
What's the point of securing transactions if only a handful of entities *can* even participate in the validation process – and aren't actively incentivized to censor?

Learned: Focusing solely on hash rate misses the forest for the trees - true decentralization requires accessible participation, not just powerful hardware.
