if you ask me, the underlying issues here are big miners lobbying for more transactions in blocks, because lightning has taken away so much transaction volume that fee rates are miniscule and there is almost no backlog anymore
and as well, there is a billion shitcoin chains now, and almost all of them have stupendous transaction fees, so they are just trying to find a cheap place to put their trash for their scams
so of course bitcoiners are pissed off, because bitcoin has achieved what none of those billion chains could: efficiency
