I print contact prints for maximum black with a grade 1,5 filter. I aim to get the film edges as black as the exposed paper. The contact print comes out dark, but you can easily see how much detail you have in the highlights (sky) and use a light table to check the shadows.
But do remember, the photos of the prints were taken with a mobile phone. They use AI 🫨. In real life the prints are not as contrasty.
