Saint Andrew, brother of Peter, was fishing in Galilee when Jesus called him to be an Apostle, making him the "First-Called." He preached throughout Scythia, modern-day Romania, and Greece. Tradition holds he was crucified in Patras on an X-shaped cross. His relics are venerated in multiple locations, including Patras and Amalfi.
