Some people on the Bitcoin Core team think they can take the market into their own hands, and think they can foresee the best route without so much as a discussion about it. Total arrogance.
What's more troublesome to me is that some people believe that they do in fact control Bitcoin. They don't. Just run Knots and set your own mempool policy. Everything is gonna be fine, just do what needs to be done and seek real honest discussions with those who will entertain them. You are in charge of your node. You've got this.
