The algae?
Are there fish in the tank?
Its been over 20 years since I did a hydroponic setup, so YMMV.
You can use a wet clean sponge to clean the algae out. Be sure the sponge doesn't have any chemicals added. Afterwards, do a water change to get the phosphates out.
Minimize phosphates and nitrates to reduce algae. Perhaps overfeeding fish? Some fish foods have lots of phosphates which algae love. Go phosphate free.
Plants will also leach nitrates back into the water when they aren't getting light. 24h grow lamps might be a good solution if you aren't already doing it.
Get a few more snails or a pleco or other algae feeder to reduce algae even more.
