I find the most tactful way to say, "your cat has tapeworms, and as it's a house cat your home has tapeworms" is to then follow it up with "and I have the tools and experience necessary to manage this situation!"
Tapeworms can only be transmitted to humans via fleas and UV sanitation kills fleas as well as tapeworm eggs and many other cooties. I will still be doing a round of green black walnut oil and wormwood to flush any parasites just in case. It's just not worth the paranoia. I always link these type of cooties with demons, they are legion and invisible and longing to find a crack in our defenses so they can possess us and parasitize our life force 👹😱👹
Luckily (?) my rabbits had reoccurring worms a few years ago and I had to deep sanitize everything to get it to stop. Picked up the sanitation lamp, the UV vacuum, and discovered an awesome allergy spray pre-tariff pricing from Daddy Bezos.
It is a tedious and smelly process, smells like a mixture of Satan's taint and fried crabs. Fascinating fun fact, house dust mites, like crabs, belong to the phylum of arthropods and have tropomyosins which is science-speak for they smell bad when you fry them with a lazer. But after 6 hours of cleaning today the room the cat hangs out in most is bleached, vacuumed, and sanitized. We'll be doing the whole house and the animals get dewormer and flea stuff as a preventative for the next little while. I'm genociding these germs!!!
