The #table bare, a little less full,
A quiet rhythm, pulling my soul.
My children watch, their questions soft,
A father's lesson, whispered aloft.
This empty space, is room for grace,
To see Your face, in every place.
The world slows down, its clamor hushed,
As selfish wants, are gently crushed.
We read the lives, of saints who strove,
Through fasting found, a deeper love.
This small denial, freely given,
A path towards, Your open heaven.
It sharpens sight, makes prayer more true,
Prepares our hearts, to welcome You.
A humble bread, a simple plea,
Bring us, O #Christ, closer to Thee.
