I am not so sure our reason is "our most holy of faculties" but I fully agree that any god that says we shouldn't employ it, or any natural or supernatural faculty, would indeed be false.
The flip side, of course, being that we should never make a god of our reason. I like to think that I, like many here, have an unusual gift of reason, but as good as it is, it is still very poor. When operating at the edges of knowledge, I am far more likely to be incorrect than correct. In part for illogical steps that I miss for failing to make proper connections in what I already know and in part for the truths that I simply do not yet know and cannot, therefore, take into account.
It is thus only rational that I submit my will to God and trust that in time my questioning, probing, and relentless reasoning will catch up to what He reveals to faith.
