In addition, this same strategy has been used by content creators without them even realizing it. TikTok’s and other short form content play parts of songs during their video and create that familiarity. If it goes viral, that song also becomes a top hit because they’ve created that familiarity. I noticed this a few times when I came across a song I didn’t know but seemed familiar to me. Then the part of the song from that viral TikTok comes up and I instantly remember it. The song isn’t even that great but I enjoy it still because it feels familiar and I can sing along to that part.
