If you want keep your stack protected, and don't anticipate spending from it, I'd recommend a paper wallet so there's never anything online or even on a computer until you're ready to spend or move the funds.
You could even use a wallet like Mycelium to monitor the paper wallet in watch-only mode if you wanted a way to easily keep an eye on the balance and get notifications on new deposits. You can generate as many paper wallets as want at this URL:
