I’m old enough to remember that brief moment in 2024 when Kamala Harris called Trump “weird” and Trump had no response but pathetically sputtering indignation. It genuinely felt for a split second like the fascist fever had broken.
But then Harris picked Liz Cheney and Mark Cuban as her BFFs and doubled down on genocide in Gaza and the moment passed.
If you wonder why the Democrats are not doing more to resist the Musk/Trump fascist coup, it’s because the Democrats fundamentally do not exist to serve that role. They are a party of capital, and they will take no actions that threaten capitalist profits in a way that could lead to them being blamed.
