One solution I'd like to build for casual users would be a file backup manager on umbrel. So you could see which files where missing and re-upload them.
It would also be possible to backup your friends files if you had the storage :)
Also I don't want to sound like I'm dismissing the problem, but for casual users and developers alike, it's not strictly necessary that all of your uploads are backed up. For example I post a lot of screenshots, I don't care if those disappear. But if I had a podcast then I'd want to make sure I had a backup of that
