True, narratives don’t change the laws of the universe.
They just influence practically everything you see in the society around you including the things which are in direct contradiction to those laws..
They decide what goes in to history books. What is taught in schools. What is shown on M5M. What is spoken about in cafes and at dinner tables and barbecues. What people occupy their minds with. Where they direct their focus and attention and energy.
They govern the political Overton window. What are seen as acceptable and taboo opinions. Capital flows. Policies. Ideologies. Movements.
You’re right that one method is to spend your Bitcoin and show others, but as well as building your own it is equally meritorious to oppose the narratives of others.
In fact, it is critical to oppose others in order for your own narratives to gain traction, to help others understand the tension and why your own narrative is better.
Very rarely do things win on merit alone. Bitcoin would not be where it is today without Bitcoiners creating narratives and countering others; both are needed to drive it forward.
